Important Documents
Willard House and Clock Museum houses more than a hundred original handwritten notes and letters, as well as some of the first preprinted official governmental documents dating back to the 1720s. Several of the clockmakers’ registry daybooks survived, giving us a unique glimpse into the early days of the industry. The Museum is home to numerous receipts, notes and personal correspondence of the family, gifted to us by the descendants of Aaron Willard, with the latest coming from the collection of Zabdiel Willard, a member of the fourth generation of clockmakers.
