12” painted iron dial with iron secondary plate (Osborn, English import). Moon phase dial and calendar disc. Roman hour numerals, Arabic minute numerals and seconds bit. Corner decorations of strawberries and roses. Name "SIMo. WILLARD" in block lettering, "Roxbury" in script lettering, over numeral six; numerals 9 and 10 repainted. Pierced steel hands.
Mahogany Roxbury style case, topped with pierced fretwork and brass wine cup finials. Brass stop fluted hood and quarter columns with brass capitals. Early style wide arched top waist door. Base panels continue to the floor to conceal the weights. Applied step molding and straight bracket feet.
Eight-day movement, recoil escapement. Separate spoked brass gear mounted on a bridge over the seconds bit arbor to operate the moon phase dial. Wood pendulum rod with brass-faced lead bob. Bog iron weights.
