Bright white enamel dial with Roman numerals, signed "Simon Willard Jun.R”.
Thin, blued Breguet-style hour and minute hands. The seconds hand, which is too short, is also blued.
Approximately 18-size, gilt plates, compensated balance. "Detached" right-angle lever escapement; cock with solid foot and table, engraved; flat, sprung-over balance spring.
15 jewels with diamond endstone in blued setting on cock (“Fully Jeweled”); fusee with maintaining power; regulator located on cock with index scale on top plate; key wind from back, key set from front; dust cap with bayonet locking; pinned plates (missing two pins).
18K gold case (crown and 18, each item in square shield with cut corners, double-bottomed case (i.e., solid dome without hinge) cut lunette crystal (low bull's eye); round pendant with bow attached by a screw; plain case with light engraving on band. Casemaker: "HH" (no shield)-probably a custom-made American case. No English hallmarks.
This pocket watch appears to be English-made movement in an original American-made case. All aspects appear original except the seconds hand. Serial number #61
