Painted iron dial with Roman numerals, dial attached by two "L" shaped brass turns and two guide pins; barbed steel hands.
This case is mahogany, the bottom of the case is dovetailed; the throat frame is attached to the case by four visible screws and is recessed to give a thinner appearance; the box frame is attached to the case by two cast brass butt hinges and locks with an "L" shaped latch.
The eagle finial, bezel and side rails are all cast brass. The glass tablets have matching borders on the throat and box of green and gold banding; geometric design in the throat glass; the lower glass has an oval center opening with "S. Willard's Patent" above and a semi-circular gold wreath and ribbon design below.
Eight-day timepiece with brass plates and wheels, steel pinions, dead beat escapement with a T-bridge suspension; movement attached to case by two fillister head screws; brass faced lead pendulum bob with an iron rod, lead weight.
