12-inch sheet brass, roman numeral engraved dial marked “Benja(n) Willard/Roxbury” in the arch and “No. 142” within the second’s dial area, engraved eagles flank the recessed date aperture, arabesque decoration completes the design, blued steel hands.
Cherry case in probable first finish, scroll top, three brass finials, free-standing columns flank the hood door, tombstone-shaped waist door, the base with two-stage molding, padded bracket feet and three lobed, bold skirt.
Eight-day, brass movement with rack and snail strike, and recoil escapement all powered by two bog iron weights and regulated by a brass faced, lead backed pendulum bob and wooden rod
