Mahogany-cased Patent Timepiece with painted convex iron dial inscribed "Simon Willard/ to/ Mr. and Mrs. R. Brown" on face "S. Willard's patent" on base.
Roman numerals, fifteen minute Arabic numerals, floral garland inside the chapter ring and gold band at the perimeter all under a cast brass and glazed bezel.
Mahogany case with dove-tailed box, cross-banded inlaid frames enclosing original reverse-painted tablets, the lower in blue, gold, white and black, with inscription below a sun burst aperture with geometric border and flanked by cast brass side ornaments, all capped with a turned and gilded acorn finial.

Eight-day brass, time only movement with "T-bridge" pendulum suspension, dead-beat escapement, step train, through bold case attachment, lead weight stamped "SW" and brass faced pendulum bob and iron rod.
