Kidney Dial Massachusetts Shelf Clock by Simon Willard.

Engraved solid silver kidney shaped dial with secondary plate, 11/16" Roman numerals, Arabic minute numerals, inside circle with open minute track. Separate calendar disc is viewed through a decorated opening; lower portion of dial engraved with a vine decoration and a circular decoration containing the name "S. WILLARD" in block lettering and "Roxbury" in script; guilded brass pierced loop and sunburst hands with ruby stone settings.

Mahogany case timepiece with three solid brass ball and spire finials, bell top molding; the upper case has a kidney shaped dial opening and side windows to view the movement; crotch mahogany base panel with rope inlay on upper edge and a double step molded base with ogee bracket feet; bails on the lower case.

Eight day movement with a drop off strike; cast brass plates and wheels, steel pinions, recoil escapement; brass faced lead pendulum bob with an iron rod; bell post mounted on back of movement; lead weight. Feet have been replaced.
